Trends in the Automation Industry for the year 2016

  1. IoT :

IoT means Internet of Things. It is a system of interrelated computing devices, mechanical & digital machines which are given with distinct identifiers. It transfers data over a network without the aid of human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction.

With IoT, businesses can have asset tracking, conserve energy, and track the shipping location. It is even used by the leading companies of the world like IBM, Bosch, Microsoft, Google etc.

The Industry 4.0 started off in the Germany. It is the use of information from smart devices strategically to bring about a revolution in the industrial devices.

Some of the advantages companies can have are greater flexibility, increased productivity, and increase turnover by using this latest trend. By using the industry 4.0, companies can call themselves as Smart Factory.

  1. Cloud Computing:

Cloud computing can be defined as saving and having access to the programs from anywhere but not necessarily be from the same computer system. With this, one can have access of data and programs over the internet.

It is very significant to have the data secure and have knowledge of whom is it managed and where. It is very cost-effective, reduces the amount of servers, IT costs can be reduced.

DevOps is the combination of two words namely Development and Operations. It is more about teamwork between the developers, IT professionals and operation engineers.

According to Google Trends, 67% enterprises engage in DevOps principle to tap the benefits of cross-functional skills and speed up the test project deliveries.

So, above were the trends of the automation industry for the year 2016. After all it is very trendy to be in the trend.
