Robotic Trends in the Automation Industry

Automation or automatic control is the usage of systems for operating machines to reduce the manpower.  With the emergence of robots, the automation industry has undergone a lot of changes.  They can anytime rule the entire industry without any human interference. In this article, let’s discuss some of the robot trends for the year 2016.

  1. China’s Revolution:

China has already started its attempt of filling its factories with advanced manufacturing robots. According to study, there are only 36 robots per 10,000 manufacturing workers in China, Japan have 315 and whereas South Korea has 478. However, Beijing has settled on a goal of increasing the robot and worker ratio to more than 100 by the year 2020.

  1. Learning:

Learning is an integral part of everyone’s life and so are the robots. Initially there was no chance of assigning new tasks for them as they’re designed only for specific purposes. However, with time robots are also changing and they’re able to learn very quickly and effectively.

They can now even do day-to-day activities of a common man. For example, a robot named PR2 in Germany is learning how to make pancakes and pizzas with the help of WikiHow’s written directions. The European project named RoboHow is for teaching robots and makes them do peculiar tasks. All one needs to do is just command the robot.

  1. Droning On:

You may never know one may get their products delivered through drones on any day. Smart and autonomous drones are being tested in various industries where automated surveillance and inspection is handy.

Droning can save a lot of revenue, energy of the companies.  The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) had released regulations for registering drones at the end of year 2015, and is testing technology that could help automate air traffic control for automated vehicles.

  1. Personalized Robots:

Robots are slowly entering in the stores where their role is that greeting and meeting customers.  One such one is the Pepper which can be used in the offices, homes.  As there has been a fall in the cost of sensors, actuators, and computers, it is possible to build voice, image recognition and even have some little conversation.
