Read on to learn about the hottest trends in information technology!
Artificial Intelligence
Artificial Intelligence will be on the rise in the next year with companies from various industries experimenting with and implementing forms of this up-and-coming technology.
Any tech-based business is on the path to determining how the use of AI can increase productivity and streamline their service. This means utilizing new algorithms and using AI-based machines and tools to help out.
We’ll be seeing AI systems pop up in food, automotive, healthcare, and education systems to name a few.
AI can help make predictions, analyze data and determine when items or machinery becomes faulty and needs to be replaced or repaired.
Before this technology can really take off, companies will have to figure out a way to adjust their labor force, data security, worker safety, and privacy rules before making a full transition.

Blockchain
You were probably privy to the Bitcoin craze and the rise of other cryptocurrencies across the world. This type of currency all exists on the blockchain.
While cryptocurrency is certainly trending, the real standout here is the blockchain itself. It’s going to be used for much more than currency exchange and several industries are taking note and figuring out ways to utilize its technology.
This type of technology essentially allows information to be shared without being duplicated and is said to be a very secure system and means of exchanging data.
We’ll likely see a rise in blockchain use within industries like healthcare, internet identity, rideshare and even voting down the road.
Drones
You’ve probably seen them all over the place, they’re not new, but the way we’re going to use them will be.
Up until recently, drones have been great for capturing images, taking aerial shots in cool movies and playing around within an open field with your kid.
But the use of drones is now skyrocketing and being used across various industries. So much so, in fact, that NASA is going to launch a drone monitoring system to control air traffic, similarly to the way we monitor planes in the sky.
Quantum Computers
Even the fastest computer doesn’t cut it anymore. Companies will begin to transfer, process and analyze data with computers that utilize quantum mechanics.
This technology forgoes the typical computers use of binary code, allowing it to be in various states at one time, increasing the speed at which data is processed.
Think of it as a streamlined way of computing as opposed to our binary computers which have to “check” various methods first before coming to the result. Quantum computers can bypass that step and get right to the point.
